Aisling Bea

Aisling is a popular Irish comedian, who's been performing for a long time. She was born in Kildare, Ireland on 16th March 1984. The comedian has appeared on QI with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, more popularly known by her stage name Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984), is an Irish writer, actress and comedian. Bea started appearing as part of the cast on Irish or British TV programs in the year 2009, started her career as an stand-up comic in the year 2011. In 2012 she was on sketch comedy shows or sitcoms. Following her win in the Edinburgh Comedy Awards she began to appear regularly on different panel shows, where she is now a regular. Between 2016 and 2017 she was a member of 8 Out of 10 Cats Team, and also a part-time participant on the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. Born to Brian O'Sullivan, the actress has one sister called Sinead. She was in 2012 the second woman to ever be awarded the So You think That You're Funny award. Bea was awarded the award to commemorate her father's passing. Aisling Cliodhnadh, born the 16th of March, 1984 in Kildare Town in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian is an equine veterinarian who took his own life when she was only three years old. Bea didn't learn how the death of her father occurred until she turned thirteen. Bea was her stage name. Bea was a tribute for her father. Bea wrote an opinion piece in The Guardian, published in 2017 on her journey dealing with suicide. Bea (and her sister Sinead) were raised within the home of Helen Moloney who was a instructor and trainer of jockeys who was also a professional jockey. Their parents were both obsessed with racing and horses. As a young girl, Bea was a tour guide for the Irish National Stud however she was aware from an early age that she wasn't keen on the sport of racing as a job, and loved performing.
